Nan Zhou is a Staff Research Associate with the China Energy group at Lawrence Berkeley National Lab. Zhou’s current research is intended to build China’s capacity to evaluate, adopt, and implement low-carbon development strategies. Additional work has focused on analysis of building energy consumption; evaluation and optimization of distributed generation and CHP systems, and assessments of energy efficiency policies. Zhou has extensive research and teaching experience in architecture, as well as experience with engineering systems. Zhou has an architecture degree from China, Master and PhD in Engineering from Japan. She has worked as an assistant professor in Department of Architecture, Kyushu Sangyo University and Department of Environment Engineering, University of Kitakyushu, Japan. She is a native Chinese speaker and fluent in Japanese and English.
