EPA Administrator signs Memorandum of Understanding with China on Environmental Protection
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the Chinese Ministry of Environmental Protection recently renewed a memorandum of understanding to continue existing collaboration and establish new opportunities to work together on environmental protection.
In addition to continuing to collaborate on pollution management in air, water, persistent organics, toxics, hazardous/solid waste, and environmental law, the renewed MOU establishes a new joint committee co-Chaired by EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson and MEP Minister Zhou Shengxian that will meet every two years to review progress and approve work plans for the next two years. EPA and MEP officials will convene the first meeting in Washington, D.C. on November 16-17, 2010.
